Software Update

Does anyone know if you can update the software for the command system? I have the old software that doesn't even show the volume level or the time on the screen. The dealer keeps telling me that there's no new software update for my car. I have a 2016 C300.

My dealer informed me of a new update last week when I called for warranty repair. I'm dropping my car off tomorrow morning for the update. The dealer referred to it as a recall. I went on MB's recall site to lookup any recalls for my car and the site said all the recalls for my vehicle have been addressed. This will be my second update this year. The last update I received was for the SIRIUS radio issue. My car is a 2015 so this update might not apply to 2016s. I suggest calling other nearby MB dealerships and seeing if an update is available.

I'm visiting a dealership this Thursday to program a smart key and do warranty repairs. I was told there were two updates and one of them was radio. I don't know what it is exactly yet. Mine is 2017 C300.

I just had a software update last week on my 2015 C300 and noticed a weird side effect.

When you have your heating/cooling switch set to Auto with the AC turned off and then you change Auto to Max everything works as expected, but when you switch Max back to Auto the AC switch turns on.

Totally illogical and I had to talk my dealer into requesting a patch to revert that one anomaly.

Apparently newer cars do that by default and they saw nothing wrong with it.

I did not get the volume bars in the full update so that may not be possible.

I've been told it best to leave AC on even in the winter. Something about it keeping moisture out of the heating/cooling system. Also it's been my understanding that only 2016+ have volume indicator.
