2015 Remote Start
I'm sure this has been answered, but all of my searching has lead me to either remote start for the 2015 C300 Coupe, or 2016 and up C300's.
It's almost like the 2015 C300 was just looked over completely.
I was foolish enough to recently purchase a beautiful almost mint, low mileage C300 for a great price. In my rush to capitalize on such a deal, my research was a little lax. I wrongly assumed that a 2015 C300 would easily have remote start with the MBrace subscription. As most of you reading this are probably already aware, the remote start option wasn't offered until 2016.
So, my question is this... Do I have any options??

I haven't been able to find a suitable remote start option for a 2015 sedan, but I'd definitely like one. I'm following this thread in hopes that some new has come out over the last year.

My story is EXACTLY the same. Mid-City did respond to my email with the same form mailer they have been using for years....."We are aware of this situation and are currently working on a solution." Which is the same answer another guy on this forum 2 years ago posted. In my humble opinion, I think it is safe to say Mid-City has no solution nor any intention of finding one. I went to our local accessory shop for all the higher end European imports (BMW, Audi, Mercedes; Etc). As soon as I told them it was a sedan they told me there is NOTHING currently on the market for that vehicle and that a COM error exists with the Command system that can't be corrected with aftermarket remedies. My software version of command is NTG5E and there is just now way for the remote to talk to the Command system. I did call Compustar and speak to one of their engineers who told me this: "The 2016 Command unit software is designed to permit remote start via MBRACE. The coding is proprietary. These units are identified with software versions NTG5E, NTG5S and other versions starting with NTG5.... For whatever reason, MB started implementing this system in the 2015 C300 W205 Sedan before they made it standard on all comparable 2016 models. so, in short - the software is on board in the 2015 C300 W205 sedan to activate a remote start, but the hardware is not. Mercedes Benz has to write/update the code and offer a remote starter package for the W205 Sedan - but they won't."
I spoke to an Executive Account Rep at Mercedes Benz USA who was sympathetic to my situation and offered to find me a remedy. Several hours later she did call me back and said that no one in engineering, software or telematics can offer me a solution either.
I don't know if that all of this is truth or B.S. but no one has provided me with a better answer yet, All I want is a remote starter for my car. If you or anyone else has a solution - I'm all in. PLEASE ADVISE....

I’ve always been a believer that you should start your car and go. Never used remote start in my past cars. It can’t be good for the vehicle idling for 5-10 minutes. I live in NY and it can get quite cold but I just deal with it for 3 minutes till the car warms up. Since I took up ice fishing 6 years ago the cold just doesn’t bother me all that much anymore. Still kinda weird that no one has come up with an after market starter.

I believe this is no longer an issue with modern day smart cars.
It gets super cold over here and my finger tips freeze quickly on a cold steering wheel (even with gloves). I would love to have my remote start + heated seat activation back on this 2015 W205.
(Hmm, Maybe a heated steering wheel retrofit?)

Anyone try Viper? Like the OP, I didn’t do enough research. Where I got screwed over is the dealers website said remote start but in small print said these are standard features associated with this vehicle but all may not apply.
To me Viper is the only possibility, I don’t even care about smartphone abilities.

1. Mid City Engineering
2. idatastart/idatalink (the best imho, these units can also turn on heated seats and cooling based on temp and are programmable)
3. Compustar/Firstech
4. Smart Key Starter
*Nearly all of these can work with the drone mobile gps addons and the install is plug and play (no cutting of wires).
I've never seen anything from viper.

Hello dear MB enthusiasts,
Bringing news from remote start here in Toronto Canada,
Midcity is now offering the remote start solution with app smartphone integration, cost is USD 799 + 100(app integration)
Since installation is a bit tricky i would recommend to use the guys from MB house in north york (it is a specialized MB place)
They are offering the solution for 1480
If anyone here is interested let me know, I got with them in the phone and they will offer a better deal for a group to have it installed.
if anyone want to get in touch you can text or email me

Hey everyone, since there seems to be some passionate discussion happening here that involves us, we'd like to clarify some things.
1. Yes, we've been working on the development of the W205 starter for C class and GLC for quite some time. There has been an incredible amount of work that has gone into this.
2. Yes, the development timeline of this product has changed and has been extended several different times due to the complexity of this new vehicle platform. Sometimes when you're developing a new product as a solution to a consumer need (especially when a solution doesn't exist), you come across things that change the timeline that you may have been planning for. That's just the nature of the game we're in, and we sincerely appreciate all of you who have been waiting for this solution to roll out. We also understand the frustration that some of you might have experienced, but due to the reasons mentioned in this point, there are simply some instances where you just have to roll with unexpected developments and just keep moving forward.
AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST:
3. Our remote starter coverage for 2015-2018 C class and 2016-2019 GLC is NOW AVAILABLE! This includes starting the vehicle with the factory key, and we're the only solution out there.

1st off - Finally!! I can't wait to get one of these.... Remote start unavailability in Canada has been the main reason I waited so long to acquire another W205.
2nd - The install looks a bit complicated... but definitely doable! RIP ppl with no technical/mechanic skills trying this . Easy to break things/fry circuit boards if you don't know what your doing. I just watched/read the install from start to finish, its no wonder this kit took so long to become available. Very very complex. Excellent job from the ppl @ midcityeng finding a reliable and working solution.
3rd - This does look a bit tricky even for me being a certified AST and ex benz tech, but it should work without a hitch if the instructions are followed . HOWEVER, I'm curious to see if there is an easier (or even doable) way to get the EIS out without permanently "modifying" the dash behind the telematics.... Has anyone attempted this install yet?

Glad you're excited about this. So are we!
To answer your question re: the EIS modification -- unfortunately, there isn't a way around this part of the installation process. If you (or anyone else) isn't feeling confident enough to do this modification, we're able to do this for you (free of charge) if you ship us the EIS. Please give us a call to coordinate, should you want to go this route. Also, we have a dedicated support line to help with any questions you might have during installation.
Happy to help!
