I purchased a pre-owned C300 that apparently comes with the wrong SD card for navigation (It was probably used/switched with other car and the dealership wouldn't do anything about it because I had no dealer warranty)
This is the code that Mercedes service center suggested for the memory card: 213-906-37-05
and this is what I have on my car: 205-906-79-01
It shows an error message when I press "NAVI" and could not use the GPS so far. (picture attached)
The dealership offered $550 for a new replacement and the Mercedes Benz service center offered me $790 for it. Kinda crazy price but I saw on Amazon and Ebay that the price ranges from $80 to $130. Would they work just fine?
Can someone give me a direct link to a product that I need from Amazon or Ebay in a $100 range?
This is the message I receive when I try to use the navigation system

If you have a model year 2017 - you need to get Build Date from the Mercedes VMI/dealer record as 2017 was a split/changeover year - depending on built-date early build year can be 8.0/8.1 and later same build year changed to version 9.0... 8.0/8.1 cars won't read 9.0 - and 9.0 cars won't read 8.0/8.1
It is the 2015 C300 and I think it comes with the AUDIO20 instead of the COMMAND because I saw the SD card slot.
There are three kinds of Garmin maps.
(1) Garmin maps for non-C class
(2) Garmin maps for C-Class (2014~7/2017)(2015~2017 model years)
(3) Garmin maps for C-Class (8/2017~)(2018 model years~)
Check the seller’s description if the maps is compatible with both your vehicle class(C-Class) and the model years. You don’t need to buy the latest version maps since you can upgrade the maps within 60 days from the first activation date on Garmin website. To upgrade the maps, first insert the SD card into your vehicle, activate the maps, download Garmin download manager(PC/Mac), insert the SD card, upgrade, insert the card into the vehicle, activate it again (This means you can transfer the maps to other vehicle one time after the upgrade).
Find maps less than ~$90 on ebay (brand new only).
The latest version is software 9.0 and maps 10.0 on Garmin website as of today. For example, even if you buy 6.x version, you can upgrade to 10.0 maps within 60 days.

These SD cards or the SD slot can be very finicky and schizophrenic. I have a 2018 CCoupe with Audio 20 codes 522 and 355. 2 different proper series SD cards have not worked.
Hard to determine if it’s the SD Slot or SD card. In either case they both read the dreaded NO MEMORY CARD CONTAINING NAVIGATION SOFTWARE INSERTED. So I will try 1 last card which is a 9.0 version model A218 906 30 03 and then if that doesn’t work off to the dealer possibly a software update or replacement of SD Card reader. Total nonsense on a $55K car.
