Diamond grille and illuminated star

I am trying to change the front of my C300 4MATIC similarly to the C43 AMG, just with the added touch of illuminated star emblem.

The thing is, no sellers would sell them in bundle and buying from different sellers lead to the risk that the new emblem might not fit the new grille because they come from different manufacturers (this is my personal experience)

I prefer to purchase from ebay as the grille may be as cheap as $150 and the emblem as low as $25.

To anyone who installed the illuminated star and diamond grille on their C300, where should I get them? Not buying from Mercedes directly as the price does not even make sense to me.

There are many diamond grille sellers on Ebay that indicate "star not included, use original star". That means your existing oem star should fit perfectly.

Also, most of the aftermarket illuminated stars will fit exactly like the OEM grille stars into your existing grille. Check the pictures and description for details. (You could also contact the seller directly.)

Example, this seller has plenty of high resolution grille pictures and you can clearly see the star tab pattern on the grille. Zoom in, print it out and compare with your tab pattern on your oem grille.

Can always just remove the star from the grill and see if the illuminated will fit. If not, then just bond it and that will work as you will not need to remove it again once installed, even if you sell the car.

I am trying to install a diamond grill on my c300 with the OEM illuminated star, but so far I have been unsuccessful. I am being told by my dealer that the aftermarket diamond grill I bought from eBay is unable to "lock in" the illuminated star and would fall out if I installed the grill. Without replacing both the star and grill, I may be out of luck. Given I spent extra money on the illuminated star when I bought the car, I don't want to switch it out for an aftermarket star.

Just glue it in. I did that as I would not going to remove the grill from the my W204 car.
