Run flats and geavel roads
Would it advisable to take my C180, Exclusuve, 2015 fitted with continental contisport conract 5, 225/50 R17 W on an extended gravel road trip?
i am talking about 150km's +.
Can tyre pressures be dropped and how would the tyres manage?

These are classified on Tire Rack as max performance summer tires. My immediate concern is the tread design. Off road and snow tires have a tread that is designed to flex. This breaks up any embedded snow, ice and mud that builds up. A max performance summer only tire tread is designed for cornering on dry streets. However, if the road is gravel without mud you will most likely be OK. Just hope for no rain! I don't think lowering the air pressure in an attempt to get better traction will achieve much.
