Wheel Compatibility 255/40R19 fit where 255/35R19 is standard?

Wheel Compatibility 255/40R19 fit where 255/35R19 is standard?
Evening all,
Just picked up a C300 Sport with the 19' Wheels. I have a few spare tires that are size 255/40R19. The current set-up for the C300 rear wheels are 255/35R19. Would a pair of 255/40R19 fit the rear 255/35R19 wheels?
The front wheels are 225/40R19. I don't believe the 255/40R19's would fit the front as the front wheels are wider?

will it fit? yes. will it work? nope. the overall diameter and the ratio between 225 40 19 and 255 35 19 are the same. 255 40 19s are almost an inch thicker than 255 35 19 or even 225 40 19 so your 4matic system will be effed. and your stability/traction as well.
