disabling illuminated star

disabling illuminated star
While I understand the popularity of the illuminated star, it's just not for me. I took delivery of a 2019 coupe last month, and would like to know if there is a way to disable the star without throwing a bulb warning or other error code? I'm hoping that one of you who have installed the OEM version can tell me if it is a dedicated fuse, or if there is a simple way to disable it. The local service department was unable to answer this.

Hello, from what I know it's has it's own fuse. Weird that you have the Star as it's normally installation is at the dealership level. In the fuse box in the engine bay you should see a fuse tap somewhere in there.

Have you tried to unplug it and see if you still get the warning? On my 2016 it's a little less than 1/4 ccw turn on the Star and the whole damn thing comes right out. Unplug it and turn it back in. You tube it.
