Signing paperwork 1 week before the delivery Q
Hello Everyone,
I have a question. Our car is supposed to be delivered in the first week of March. Our dealer wants us to come and sign the paperwork today (probably trying to meet some quota for the month of February?). He allowed us to return our currently leased vehicle later than our return date instead of paying for another months extension (we were supposed to drop the car on 21st, a week ago).
Are we putting ourselves in danger by signing for the car which is not even here yet? Would you do that?
There are no current financial incentives for the February for c-300 and only $500 Manufacture to dealer discount. I was thinking maybe March will be a bit better with discounts or special lease terms availability.
Thank you.

Let me try to be helpful - but frankly it requires a little work on your side - and being a bit bold with your dealer - frankly February/today is not best scenario for you.
1. Join PenFed (penfed.org) - if you are not government employee/military/retired-military - online join voicesfortroops.org for like $35 and that membership qualifies you for PenFed. Then join Penfed which requires like $5 deposit.
2. Once you are up as a PenFed Member - go to Car Buying Service - under Mercedes - and download code/certificate for $2,250 fleet discount for 2019 C300
It's up to you - keep the beat !

It doesn’t matter. Car sales are in the dark side of the world. Even if you do all right, you still have to wait the title for a month as the dealer does the paperwork. MB newcar dealers won’t go bankrupt in a month but some dealers do. One of my friend purchased a car in full cash. They gave more discount than usual. What a great deal!!! He waited the title for a month. It didn’t arrive. He went to the dealer. ???!!!@@@ They were closed. He found the car was not even theirs but the other dealer’s. The other dealer refused to give the title as they hadn’t received the money yet. It took a year for him to get the title after hirig a law firm.
Long story short, check the background of the dealership as they do your background. Regardless you sign on it either now or later, you are still not safe.
