Is there a class action law suit for the courtesy lights on the door handles
As stated above, is anyone involved in a class action law suit against Mercedes Benz for the courtesy door handles? I know this is a major problem on the W205s. As per the customer service representative this is the only way a recall will be issued. Also, does anyone have the email addresses to the board members of Mercedes Benz? On a $700 quote to replace all the lights, they offered $100 towards the repair.

Recall is only for safety related issues in the USA. Door handle light is not related with safety. Maybe someone approached you at night but you couldn’t find the handle in a hurry because it didn’t light.

Those that buy older cars without warranties, it's the cost of ownership. There are numerous parts on autos today that require taking entire assemblies out to replace.
Now that being said, guess what two things are not covered under extended warranties by MB.
1. Battery
2. Lights
Coincidence?
So I guess it's either learn how to take these handle assemblies apart or pay an Indy or dealer to do it.

Is the issue that the leds keep turning blue or that they burn out quickly?
Two of mine just turned blue and I had the drivers door done last year for this issue.
The tech had to remove the door panel, controller and other stuff to install.
My passenger door and left rear door just turned blue.
Normal color

my dealer fixed mine under warranty but they said it was out of good faith because "bulbs, are typically under the 2yr, 40k" (In Canada) and not covered outside of the 40k,2YR.

THIS ENTIRE FORUM SHOULD BE MANDATORY READING FOR EVERYONE BEFORE BUYING ANY CAR MB!
That being said I love my car and being a member of this forum has given me more information about this car then any other car I've ever owned.
I'm Just had the passenger side (burned out) and the drivers side (blue/purple) both replaced about 3 weeks ago, both still covered. Asked them to do both rear passenger lights as well but got turned down. That and the POS A20 factory stereo are grounds for a revolt!
