Suspension Squeak

I tried searching but I haven't found anything in particular to the W205.... I have this suspension squeak that I can only hear when the car is stationary such as when I am getting in and out of the car and the car slightly shifts or when the start/stop engages and sends a slight shutter through the body of the car. Has anyone experienced this as well? It's annoying having a 6 month old car creaking like an 86 Chevy when I am getting out of the car...

Mine wasn't the same noise, but the cause could be related. I had a creaking noise in the left front of the car whenever the left front suspension was flexed. The car spent over 6 weeks at two different dealers. They replaced the strut and strut bearing, as well as the anti-sway bar bushings and sway bar end link. All to no avail. Creak, creak.

Finally I just got angry enough to start doing my own research. Since my E400 is a W212 chassis, I started internet research back about 10 years or so, when that platform was first introduced. I found the usual tales of woe about control arm bushings, struts, anti-sway bar bushings, and all that. So what? But THEN, back in the early days, I ran across a post on the other MB board, from a member who went about as crazy with a noise as I had been. He found the cause of his. Would you believe that the noise, that ALL of the dealership mechanics swore was a suspension noise, actually was caused by creaking of the plastic bumpers that the hood rests upon when it closes! Yes, stupid plastic bushings. (The car's unibody flexes more than we think it does, too.)

I bought a $10 tube of silicone grease and set about lubricating every place I could find where metal touches or could rub against plastic or rubber. I did the hood, trunk, doors, etc. Would you believe that my car was now SILENT?!!! Yes, the cause of my noises, which the dealers spent 3 1/2 years trying to find, was just a bunch of dry plastic bumpers and weather strips.

So, maybe try the cheap grease fix and see if it calms your car (and its owner) down like mine did.

Good luck!

Wow... I automatically assumed something with the suspension as well... Where exactly are the contact points you are referring to?

Mine would squeak when I got in/out. Dealer replaced the strut under warranty.

I got my car back after the dealer was able to replicate the noise from the rear passenger side (I was off on where it was coming from). They pinpointed the noise to right rear lower control arm ball joint/bushing where it connects to the wheel carrier. They ended up replacing the right rear wheel carrier and redid the alignment... the squeak seems to be gone for now...

That's exactly the part I was going to suggest after reading your first post. I also recently suffered from a similar squeak and needed to get my front left lower control arm replaced. It started off as a minor squeak that I heard while driving or turning the wheel. After a month it got so bad just opening the door caused the squeaking noise. This is a pretty common repair on these cars.

Welp....the squeak is back...not sure if it's another lower control gone bad.... I'll get it checked out at my 10k mile service next week. This on top of the weird dash knock before 10k miles has been questioning the quality of the W205's.

Dealer kept the car overnight and the shop foreman drove the car home to verify noises. Foreman did verify all the noises but couldn't actually locate where the noises were coming from. They did add some felt to the air vents and adjusted the hood stoppers as they were not properly adjusted at the factory. The squeak from when the start/stop engages seems to be gone after the hood was adjusted. The other squeak from when getting in and out of the car persists as well as the dashboard knock. This is the most squeakiest car I've ever owned.... although the GLC loaner (Valmet Made) also periodically squeaked when getting in and out...
