Hi,

Does anyone know any information on wether it is possible to retrofit a 2019 C Class steering wheel to a pre-facelift model?

I cannot find any posts on this, my research has lead me to a video on Youtube which show is sucesfully being done:

I doubt many (or any) of the functions would work. It operates completely differently including small touch pads. I'm sure there's different software required at a minimum.

I swapped mine you need a module to make it function.

are you able to use the distronic and limiter keys on the steering wheel? or still using ist the "old" way?

Whats a module? Also if i were to purchase this steering wheel, as well as the module, would I be able to plug and play and have it working perfectly, or would I have to code/program anything including the buttons?

I bought it with its module no programming required. The only thing is that the cruise control buttons do not function. You can use your existing cruise control stick.

I frankly do not have a part number as I purchased as a whole including its airbag.

Oh ok. I hadn't thought about the airbag. Sounds too advanced/complicated for me to do this

Because, I have read that “After installation AirBag coding is required of ORC222 module (in W222/C217 cars from 2018 MY only one airbag stage is used instead of two). Coding can be performed with VEDIAMO software.“

They have done all the coding themselves, installed the module and shipped it to me. i just installed it.

You need a module so that the car will understand the commands coming from a 2019 steering wheel. I purchased mine with its module and airbag. All buttons works except cruise control. The existing cruise control shift remains active.

Yes surely plug and play if the buyer has already programed the 2019 steering wheel or included a module in it. Mine was shipped with its module. I never used cruise control so the fact that the cruise control buttons dont work it did not bother me. Note that existing cruise control handler is still working.
