Cleaning steering wheel buttons

Hi,

i guess Some sugary liquid is poured over the steering wheel and I need to clean the buttons which are inside the steering wheel. I mean when I press some of them it is either hard or very soft, sticky.

Any ideas how to clean them?

regards,

To give you a answer ... if it was me I would use MAF Cleaner.. do your best using the tube applicator to spray the "cracks" surrounding each button - then before the MAF evaporates repeatedly push that button in/out..

Thanks for the reply.

i am talking about the sides which are not seen, so bottom side of the buttons which are inside the steering wheel. I don’t think it is something easy.

I had the same situation with my passage side power window switch. Spilled a soda and now the switch sticks. When the car sits in the hot sun the switch does not stick so the steam heat sounds like it might work. Have you tried anything yet?

Like trying a $8 can of MAF cleaner - use a microfiber towel to prevent overspray - use the application tube to get into the "cracks - toothpick to clean out any junk you can see - and repeatedly press the buttons before MAF fully evaporates - you mean something that really works ? Gee's... $8 to give it a go..
