Angry Service Reset not working!

I have a c300 w/44K miles. The Overdue Service message came on a while back. I had the A and B service done at the dealer. Regular oil/filter changes I use a local garage.

I followed the instructions on how to reset. After I hit Confirm on the last step, I got a "Service Completed" message. I thought I was done and all was OK.

HOWEVER, now when I turn on the car, I have a "Service B overdue by 34,000 miles" message. I tried the reset steps again. This time after the Confirm step, I get a message that says "Service Could Not Be Completed".

Thoughts? I don't want to go to the dealer because they are complete asses to me and I am sure will make some stink about how getting service at a local shop is my fault and blah blah. The mechanic at my shop is on vacation this week, so I'd love to sort this out myself if I can.

Go to the dealership for a SAB update (free), apparently it fixes this issue. It’s a software update.

On my 2009 C350, I discovered that the doors need to be closed in order to reset. Maybe the same on theses cars.

Did you manage to solve this issue? or anyone with any solution pls?
I have the same problem, did the reset, got "service completed" message BUT at next start I got "service B overdue by 68.000 km " and couldn't reset again...
have checked in service history, that B service has been done actually before 68.000 km - seems like the car forgot it or this is some kind of bug in the system (?)

thanks

I had the same exact problem, same situation. After clearing the service A (which should have actually said service B since I was approaching 40k miles), I kept getting a message that Service B overdue by 17,500 miles. Car was serviced before so I asked the dealership about it, and they wanted me to pay to get it checked and fixed even though I am still in warranty. I waited a couple of weeks and tried the reset again and it worked, and now it is telling me Service A1 is due.

Anyone know the mileage intervals corresponding to the Service A, A1, B and B1? I am new to this and I want to try to get my service indicators back in place where they should be - without the dealership involved if possible.

Service A is just an oil change and dust filter, Service B is also an oil change and charcoal filter.

Oil is changed once a year /10k miles

Service B usually includes brake fluid flush because you do that every two years. So they alternate years basically. Mine is Service A in odd years, Service B in even years. Service "B" comes across as more expensive, but it's not-part of the service is to do the other recommended things like spark plugs at 46,500, air filters at 40,000, etc. But the base service is just an oil change and inspection and cabin filters, for both Service A and B. You can see in the Maintenance Booklet the description of each and when its recommended.

The number after A or B doesn't matter, i think its just for dealer records. My next one says B7, but that means nothing.

Ok great, I was unsure what the numbers after A or B meant and if it was of any real importance. I suppose I'll just leave it the way it is at this point. Thanks!

on your AMG though there are a few extras you need to do:

ATF fluid change ONCE @ 3 years or 31,000 miles

Replace air filter every 3 years or 31,000 miles

DO NOT do the ATF fluid change @ 5 years

otherwise its the same service schedule as the C400/C300

Ok great. I believe the ATF fluid was changed already by the dealership when it was leased by the last person who drove the car. But if not I'll schedule it in, everything else I've taken care of including differential fluid and brake fluid flush.

thank you BayAreaAMG for the info that after few weeks it is possible to reset the service counter again.
it seems that there are some parameters to reach to do it again (time or runned miles etc), you are not allowed the reset it in every minute
I'll wait a week and have a second try

btw our cars have an FSS (flexible service system), so they calculate the time and the necessary services according to our usage

2010 E350 CDI Convertible
Hi all

I've had this problem on my 2010 E350 CDI (A207). It says to press the phone answer button and OK pretty much simultaneously and hold until the Assyst message comes up. Doors are closed etc, but nothing is happening. I saw smeone say that the display has to be on "Trip" so tried that. Still nothing. Any ideas please? Cheers

Mercedes GLE 350 also gave me the message Service Could Not Be Completed

After Oil change at 40K servcie I followed same procedure to remove the service sign but instead I got Service Could Not Be Completed. I droe for 50-75 miles and tried again and luckily I could able to confrim my service completed message. I think you need to drive for few miles after the service in order to confrim the service sign.
