Tire Recommendations
Vehicle Info: 2015 C300 Sedan with 19" AMG multi-spoke wheels.
I live in California so inclement weather isn't a huge concern. Hoping the community can share recommendations for replacement tires based on your experiences. Looking for a balance between cost/performance/durability.
Thanks so much!

50 views and no replies... if I posted this in the wrong spot, let me know. Hoping to leverage some of the combined knowledge of enthusiasts on this forum if you don't mind taking a few minutes to reply. Cheers!

If you are using the car for normal daily commute from A to B and not doing any racing or spirited driving, I believe any tire can do the job for you. I've been using Michelin Pilot Sport 4, they are excellent, but they are an overkill for just daily commute. Don't take run flats. Check Hankook Ventus maybe.

I put Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS on mine. Very happy with them so far. Ran around $8-900 OTD. Much cheaper than the ~1400 for the OE Contis.
Coworker has a twin to my car & she just put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ on hers. ~$900 OTD.
I was set on the Michelins, but they weren't on sale when I needed tires & were around $250 higher than the Potenza.

Pray.
I keep a plug kit in the trunk as well.
Have seen a few here that have bought the Euro spare tire/wheel. But, IIRC, it takes up a decent amount of trunk space.

It happened to me few times already, I believe because of envy, but cannot tell for sure. Anyway, indicator will tell you that you have a problem if you have TPMS sensors. Don't take anything out of the tire, a nail, screw, rock, whatever. Just use an air pump and fill it with air. You need just enough to get to the workshop. Search for a near tire workshop on your mobile phone and call them. Trust me, you can drive for a long time when it happens. The only trouble you might have (I did) when it happens during weekend, a Sunday for example -> nobody's working. I had to wait 'till morning. In the morning I realized that tire is still half filled with air, even with a big screw in it. Just pump the air and drive, do not take the thing out of the tire, a workshop will do that.

Unless you're a street racer, virtually any major brand tire will be fine for normal driving in most of CA. When you spread tire cost over the years/miles of wear, the cost becomes pretty minor anyway. Sometimes the savings come from free stuff by the tire shop; free rotation, balancing, fixing flats. Check reviews and ratings at Tire Rack, Consumer Reports etc for the things important for you; warranty, ride, noise, wet traction, etc.

I'll be getting the DWS06's put on tomorrow. Other readers might find this helpful if you're looking at similar non run flat options: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=230
What are people doing to hedge against not having run flats? I've looked at a couple pumps & tire repair kits, etc. on amazon but I'd appreciate recommendations here if anyone has them
Cheers.

I got Michelin A/S Pilot Sport 3+ tires from TireRack, had them shipped to the installer, they arrived overnight, will have them installed Friday morning. I don't have staggered. All 4 are 225 50 17, they were $164.99 per tire. I put these on my previous car, GLA250 FWD and they were night and day better, quieter, better ride, much better handling. I will report back after installation.

Got the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 installed yesterday and there's a noticeable difference in ride quality and road noise. I live in downtown San Diego so I face the occasional pothole or uneven grade, etc. and that made for an unpleasant, often jarring ride with the RFT's... much, much smoother with the new tires.
Does anyone have a recommendation for how to deal with the lack of a factory spare? Are most folks using a can of slime and a compressor? a full size spare in the trunk? hoping for the best? I'd appreciate recommendations/links if you have them.
Cheers!

Had the Michelin A3+ tires installed. Ride, handling much nicer. I saved one of the old tires, will buy the least expensive wheel available at Tirerack, have the old tire installed on it, will use it for a spare when I drive the car out of town. In town I will use the phone. I understand MB wants to save weight, and also save the expense of including a spare, but so many people are spending varying amounts of cash to have a spare, why not make the spare an option?
