Break in period for 6 hour highway trip
How many miles should I have on odometer before taking an extended (6 hour) road trip? This would be mostly 70-ish mph highway speeds.
Dealer says no worries can take it right away, no break in necessary. Not sure that is accurate. What do you think?
Thx

you can download it here, although i only see SUV's for 2020,
Is the c300 the same motor as a 2019 c300 ? if yes, download that one, then you can do a search in the pdf download..

Old school break-in (probably redundant now but can't hurt):
- for the first 1000 mi. warm up at idle until the temp gauge moves before shifting to D,
- keep it under 2500 RPM at first and gradually increase max RPM as the 1000 miles accrue.
- don't cruise the highway at a fixed speed,
- vary engine speed considerably by shifting manually
- Go to max RPM occasionally and briefly.
- Change the oil & filter at 1000 miles.

what it says on page 134 so your almost there

To preserve the engine during the first 1,000 miles (1,500 km): R Drive at varying road speeds and engine speeds. R Drive the vehicle in drive program A or ;. R Change gear before the tachometer needle is 2/3 of the way to the red area of the tachometer. R Do not shiftdown a gear manually in order to brake. R Avoid overstraining the vehicle, e.g. driving at full throttle. R Vehicles with automatic transmission: Do not depress the accelerator pedal beyond the pressure point (kickdown).
Only increase the engine speed gradually and accelerate the vehicle to full speed after 1,000 miles (1,500 km). This also applies when the engine or parts of the drivetrain have been replaced. Please also observe the following breaking-in notes: R In certain driving and driving safety systems, the sensors adjust automatically while a certain distance is being driven after the vehicle has been delivered or after repairs. Full system effectiveness is not reached until the end of this teach-in process. R Brakepads, brake discs and tires that are either new or have been replaced only achieve optimum braking effect and grip after several hundred kilometers of driving. Compensate for the reduced braking effect by applying greater force to the brake pedal.
