Did the rear diff fluid replacement on my wifes 2015 C300 4matic and I am loving that wrench I picked up from mercedessource. Really makes it easy. No clearance issues at all with it. - tried it with my normal hex set but the exhaust was in the way and that big disk on the driver side axle was also in the way.
I was surprised to only get about 740ml out, sure was dark. I don't think it has ever been changed - dealer did all maintenance when under warranty. Car has a bit over 105k miles now. I end up pushing in about 940ml until it came out the fill hole.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge! How often will you change the fluid now? My 2016 just rolled over to 30k so im probably not due for a little while, but Id like to preventative maintenance to keep things running smoothly
That's a good question. My original plan was to send a sample of that for oil analysis and then decide what to do. Well I got distracted and ended up pouring that into another container that already had engine oil - so that plan was bust. So maybe just do it every 30k or so (which many would say is totally unnecessary) and don't worry about it. Or if the next one at 30k looks great, just do it at 60k. Not sure at this point, if we still have the car then and I can find this forum post and I even remember, I'll update it with pic of the fluid and the mileage.
