Went on about a 2 hour drive in my 2015 C300 4matic driving efficiently, and got the best mpg I've ever seen on the car! I think it is officailly listed as 31 mpg (with the newer ones being 34mpg) but my recent 38.5 mpg is crazy! In my experience, if I try to drive efficiently I get around 33 mpg on a long drive like this, and if I drive agggressively I get around 27 mpg on a similar drive lol. The car just passed 48.8k miles (got it serviced for 50k early) and I'm hoping to keep it a long while, cheers!
I have a summer job which involves getting up quite early and driving for half an hour. Usually no traffic, few stops. If I keep it in E and set the cruise for 45, I routinely get 37 mph by the computer. I think the key is letting cruise be in charge, and not make a lot of stops and starts.
Wow!!! the performance step up from the c300 to c400 is huge and kind of has me wondering if I should've opted for the c400, that's quite good! The satisfaction of a v6 vs v4 doesn't compare lol. Personally, I would take an mpg hit any day for a 320+ horsepower vehicle! Regardless though, I honestly don't regret for one second jumping the gun on the c300. It's just a step above everything else in its class imo and makes my day every drive, which is enough justification for me!
