2017 C300 4Matic phone voice control
Hi
I just purchased a 2017 MB C300 4Matic and to my surprise I can't make a phone call with voice activation. I have my phone Samsung S8 connected by bluetooth. My car has the SD card navigation, Audio 20 and NTG5 screen... and when I press the voice control button on the steering wheel, the navigation system kicks in. I have read many posts on this forum and others but I can't understand what prohibits the voice control to interface with the bluetooth connected phone. If a call comes is I can answer and end the phone conversation by pressing the buttons on the steering wheel. I know I can upgrade to some aftermarket system but then I will void the warranty, according to MB. I also live in Massachusetts where now the hand free cell phone law came into effect and it is very distracting navigating thru different menus in order to make a phone call. On top of that my phone digital assistant it is not always working. Is the phone integration part of the CD player? Has any of you found another solution to this issue?

The Audio20 system won't do it. The voice button on the steering wheel is for Nav only. Only the COMAND system (or aftermarket) has that capability.
In regards to infotainment, my previous car (Fiat 500L) was better in regards to features and voice control capabilities.

I used to drive a 2014 Ford Fusion and all the phone integration was included...I am shocked that a 2017 MB does not have it standard...when I have read bluetooth capable on the vehicle description I did not think twice about it.

Sorry about my ignorance in the matter but is my vehicle capable of the COMAND system or upgrade ? Is there a document within the Forum where all this is described?
