C180 W205 Exclusive
Excludive Grill

I wish to swop the Exclusive grill on my w205 for the sport grill.
Can it be done without changing anything else?

Yes this can be done and is quite easy on the Exclusive/Luxury package vehicle. You have to make sure you purchase a grille that has the surrounding bezel built-in, like this example: Diamond Style Front Grille Chrome For 2015-2018 MB W205 C-Class Trim Luxury Pk

The auction above has already ended but it gives you an idea of what to look for.

Here are the steps I followed when I removed mine. I didn't replace it though because I love the unique look of the dynamic shutters.
  1. Remove the license plate holder (if equipped)
  2. Remove 5 T20 (Torx) screws along the top of the grille (three at the top edge and one at each end)
  3. Reach behind the grille and unplug the electrical connector (if it has the dynamic shutters)
  4. Release about five or six plastic clips from behind along the bottom edge of the grille while pulling the grille away from the bumper with gentle force. This is the trickiest part because a couple of the clips are hard to reach. I used a long flat bladed screwdriver to hit each tab.

When reaching behind the grille to work, be very careful not to hit the radiator to avoid damaging any of the radiator fins.

Interesting, the dealer removed the whole front including pumper to change grille. Can you post a picture of before and after so we can see the difference.

I haven't changed mine out as I like the classic style grille better. I have removed it half a dozen times doing other projects so can attest to the ease of removal on the non-Sport version.

Oh yes sorry you did mention you didn't remove it. I have to say mine was a hell of a job. They removed the whole front. But I was pleased with the new look.
