Question Estate - access to fit rear dashcam

Hi, I have a Nextbase 322GW and the add-on extra rear cam. I would like to run the cable for the rear cam through the rubber grommit on the right below. However I cannot find instructions on how to get to this panel anywhere online.

Does anyone know how to get the panel open ?

TIA

Matt

Do you have rear radar sensor meter display on rear roofliner?

Hi yes, but power isnt the issue (if thats what you are thinking) as the cable goes to the dashcam up front which records both front and back cameras. The issue is how to get the cable (neatly) to the back window where it connects to the camera. I have hidden it inside the car but want to run it through the rubber grommits to the back window so the cable is weather protected.

I installed my rear cam on the sensor display.

On my sedan, I have parking sensor meter display that tells me how close the rear bumper is to an obstacle. I just taped my rear cam to the display housing and pointed the camera to rear windows.

If you also have this display, you can do the same even if you have a wagon.

Now that you've already run the cable, it will prove to be nearly impossible. I would suggest pulling the cable back out and starting over, since you'll want to run the connector-end of the cable from rear to front through the grommets and cable runs. You will for sure need to pull the plastic covering on the rear hatch door down in order to access the opening to that cable run, then also remove the black cover and drop the headliner a bit to reach the opening on the other end.

Thanks - the good news is the camera has a 12" cable of its own with a connector to the longer wire so I dont need to pull it back out.

Well I did it ! Let me start by saying I am very cack-handed at most DIY type stuff so it took me a LONG time (about 3 hours).

The hardest part was the removal of the handles (the first step) - the rest was pretty easy apart from getting the cable through the rubber boot (WD40 worked wonders). I just took my time (hence the 3 hours) and made sure I was careful at every step. The blackvue video linked above shows the process most clearly.

This is the luckiest post ever! I installed my camera on Friday and it was only when I got to the back that I realised it was going to be difficult!
Thank you!

I will!

Already gone looking for my old trim tools. The Dashcam arrived on Friday afternoon and I just dove right into fitting it. I was using Credit cards to get trim off. Figure I'll slow down a little for the boot trim removal.

I'll post a photo too for where I left my rear camera

This is where I had left my camera after I realised that I wasn't going to get it into the door without some serious dismantling.

Thank you for the video link!

I got it in place, center of the window!

Also had to use liberal amounts of wd40 to feed the wire, only broke maybe 5 clips

Really wouldn't have known where to start without that video though!
