121,000 miles 2016 c300

Just enjoying this car, hoping to make it to 200,000 before I replace it. First hand wash in 2 years. I used a Worx Hydroshot power washer and some Turtle Wax spray and wipe wax (spray on wet, wipe dry.) Not too impressed with the wax but the wash worked out well, I used 1 and 1/2 (5 ) gallon buckets of water with the power washer. My water source was quite a ways away so I decided to try the battery power cleaner.

This makes me happy to see youve gotten so many miles out of it! I have a 2016 with 33k and hope to keep it at least this long. Have you had any problems or issues? Do you have any advice for avoiding potential problems? Your car looks great!

Thanks Michael. I have done all the work to my car myself except 2 transmission fluid changes. I change the oil and filter every 10,000 miles with Mobil 1 0w40 full synthetic. I have changed my spark plugs and air filters. I have gone through about 4-5 sets of rear tires to 3 sets of fronts. I've gotten to the point where I find good used rear takeoff tires on Craigslist and install them on my car because I don't want to spend $500 plus on 2 rear tires every year. I haven't even replaced my brake pads yet. They have about 1/3 life left, I have replacement's on the shelf in the garage.

I have a cracked windshield that I have been putting off getting replaced because I just don't want them replacing the factory windshield with the Carl Benz signature but I know I'll have to deal with it eventually. Other than a couple of interior finish flaws the car has been great. I do have an occasional hard upshift and downshift when the car is cold, but from what I've seen it's fairly normal for these cars.

Damn, makes me a little more confident that it isn’t a terribly unreliable engine. My first year or so of ownership I had a bunch of issues I took care of by warranty, one of them major( had them replace entire engine block with a 2018 engine) but ever since it’s been problem free except for that same up/down shift that happens very rarely (maybe 2-3 times a year) Now the fake metal trim is bubbling but that’s purely cosmetic. I’m only at 52k miles on my 2015

thanks for the reply! That makes me feel better about my purchase. This is my first real luxury brand and I was nervous about upkeep and maintenance. I also plan on doing my own oil changes and the occasional fluid change if I feel ambitious. My only concern so far is the lengthy 10k mile oil change interval. Do you find the oil to be pretty dirty when you change it? I was going to be cautious and change it every 5,000 instead but Im on the fence. Do you remember at about what mileage you changed your plugs?

I changed mine at 80,000. I think the recommendation is 50,000 if I recall correctly. I drive 30,000 highway miles a year so I extended mine change mileage. I didn't notice any ill effects. Car still ran good and got great fuel mileage

2020 C300 and 2014 Explorer
Your c300 looks great. I also have a 2016 c300. Mine has 53000 and runs great. I bought it new 4 years ago and look forward to driving it everyday. (My 2014 Ford Explorer, also bought new, only has 37k). I’m the guy who looks over his shoulder as he’s walking away in the parking lot. If you don’t mind me asking where are you located as I believe that affects the longevity of the car.

I'm in the Western part of North Carolina. No salty roads for me...except on occasion when I am traveling through Virginia.

MIkeC35...
Your car looks great and thanks for sharing. I am new to the M274, but love the performance for such a 2.0L4 and my C350e packs a lot of punch in sports+ mode. I really am hoping it will last a long time as all my past MB's have.

I have a 'new to me 16' C350e hybrid with 23K and had to change the plugs due to rough idle...a recommendation of 30K or 3 years was a change in the MB maintenance manual. It made a world of difference in how the car drives and idles.

My Indy recommends changing the oil at least once per year or 10K (whichever comes first), and 40K for transmission fluid, which I find is good rule of thumb.
Since I only drive 6-7K per year, the car gets a good once over every year and an oil change, and i'll probably change the transmission fluid at 40K to be safe.

Thanks again for sharing and wish you good luck getting to 200K.
