Cleaning inside of headlights?
Hi guys, hope all is well.
I have these two large spots of what seems like oxidation on the inside of both my headlights.
Does anyone know if you can remove the lens cover and clean them? If so does anyone have any recommendations of what to use to safely clean them?
Trying my best to avoid having to bake the headlights, I do not feel comfortable doing that.
Attached is a picture for reference of my lights. Thanks guys!

Live with it unless you want to take off the bumper and remove the lights then get your heat gun out to melt the mastic then clean all the gunge away before you stick the lens cover back on not knowing if you have sealed it up 100%. It will cause more problems than it will fix. The only time to take a lens cover off is to replace a broken one.

are you sure the oxidation is on the inside of the lens? It may be on the outer portion but refracting.
Easiest way to check is try using some Plast-X 2.0 on the lens by hand and see if it improves. If it does, complete the whole lens then recoat the UV layer with Dr. Beasly's ceramic headlight coating.

I might just replace the covers if I can find the part number!

Once the covers are off anything you touch on the inside with your fingers, even with gloves, is marked for life, there's no cleaning anything that's silvered inside the light unit, be warned.

So you know - the W205 headlights (and almost all newer MB models - the headlight assembly is designed to "breath" - meaning inner condensation happens when it's humid - and yes replacing the lenses take patience - correct parts - correct sealant - correct mastic - and patient skill
