In the case of the W205 - here in the US as a current model we have dealer service (under warranty or after warranty) and we have a good # of experienced Indie MB repair shops - and as a current model - yes, there are many items that can come up with a W205 mechanically where - in the absence of someone else's matching expereince - where a proper diagnostic needs to be done to move forward..

Because if he had told me that one of the lights wasn't working then I would have advised him to look at the wiring loom wrapped around the hinge for breakages.
