OEM Brake pads
Hi there,
I am new to the forum as I was active on club Lexus for many years with my last car.
I’m wondering if someone can help me figure out the correct brake pads to order for my 2016 C300. I know that there are a lot of different brakes offered on the C-class and I want to absolutely make sure I get the right kind.
I also want them to be OEM exactly as they would be from the factory because I am wanting to change them myself but I don’t want them to make a note of it at the dealership as they might void the warranty.

Call the dealer and ask for parts. Tell them you need brake pads and give them the VIN. They will look the car up on EPC and tell you if they have them and how much. Ask for the part number to confirm. You now have the part number.

OP, you will also need to replace the brake-wear sensors, part number 1695401617. It's the same part, front and rear, for all W205s.
Lastly, looking at your front number plate mount it looks like you're in the US. The Magnussen-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part. While I stick with genuine Mercedes-Benz parts, you don't have to to preserve your rights under the warranty.

Those are probably the part numbers but you need to plug the VIN into the EPC to be sure, for example, that the car wasn't built with 0004206700 in the front. The rears, as I recall, are the same among all non-AMG builds.

OP I highly encourage yout use OEM specially that the concerned product is a major safety component.

OP will be fine with OE brands like Ferodo or Akebono or Pagid or Textar. Safety is not an issue. The difference will be in pad wear, rotor wear, dusting, performance, etc. I think Mercedes OE (Pagid, Textar) pads strike a good balance between those so I stick with them. I've used Akebono in the past, and they performed better and dusted less but went through rotors faster.

Well.... the W205 kindof represents a "new" generation with regards to what is "OE".... ZF in Germany bought TRW in 2015 (at a fire sale price) and since then has been gobbling up MB
's brake and axle business in big chunks..
Yes - the brake systems for the W205 are VIN specific .. and with MB ZF/TRW fills every niche in the W205 lineup .. current "OE" replacements are MB boxed/branded TRW Semi-Metallic's (front's kindof "beige" color) .. trending away from the "carbon black" prior non-semi-metallic pads .....and in consumer aftermarket TRW has applicable non-OE Ceramics as well..

The W205 OEM should be Ferodo for good reason ?
