You disable auto eco start/stop on the W205 by unclipping a single plug.
You can disable the entire start/stop system on the car by unclipping a single plug.
On your battery negative terminal, there is the usual big clamp. On the side of that clip is another clip, with a 2 prong plug.
This 2 wire plug is the auto start/stop system.
Simply unplug that system, and it disables and removes the whole start/stop nonsense.
This does not trigger a check engine light or anything like that. The system just literally no longer exists. You can reverse that by plugging it back in.
That's it. I ran my car for over a year this way, no issues.
I also ran with the clip disabled for a year and found out that engine been idling 25% more then normal.
This clip controls the variable charging rate from the alternator and having it disable will force your alternator to run 100% at all time even if battery is charged to full and won't trickle charge. Thus my increased load on the engine by 200 rpm.
If you don't want dead alternator or dead overcharged agm battery after warranty ends, better to use the eco button or purchase obd2 device or switch to individual mode like I been doing for past summer.

🤣 I don’t think you understand how alternators work man.
I would love to know how you determined it’s “idling 25% more”. More what, exactly? RPM? Engine hours? Get outta here 😆
anyways that doesn’t even make sense. The cars are built entirely without the system, then the system is added in some markets. It’s not even a Mercedes system, it’s Hyundai, and it’s the same one Jaguar uses.
on top of that, the AGM hasn’t used a battery in years. It’s a capacitor bank now. It’s fine. Disconnecting the system is fine. Sorry you wasted money on a Chinese dongle that does the same thing.
No loss of any other features like brake hold. No warning lights or error codes are triggered.
The only difference I've noticed is that, with the plug disconnected, there are no longer battery 'stats' being reported (current draw, rate of discharge, etc.) in the gauge cluster display when it is in service mode. This supports the story that disconnecting the plug puts the charging system into a "dumb" mode, but whether thats actually a bad thing remains unclear.

Way out of context my friend. If you would take time and read and don't be in denial, you would understand what is going on with your ride like I have.
Simple trick is to reconnect the clip and see if your idle drops from 700 to 500. In your case xxx to 600. And think for a moment why increase in rpm?
Our dear engineers in Stuttgart should have given us the option to enable this start stop thingy after starting the car instead of having to disable it every time we start the car.

on the newer cars at least they put the disable button right next to the "Start" button, so you can just start the car with both fingers and shut it off with one gesture

Good to know. So the theory that some people say "MB don't care" is not true.

What year is this for? My car doesn't turn off unless I turn it off myself.
all W205, is there not a plug on your battery terminal? The negative side
I haven't checked but my car never turned off. It may have done it in echo but I never tried. Now I'm running an ec tune so I'm guessing that disables it in echo as well.
It’s torture I’m telling ya! (sarcasm alert for anyone impaired)
Dats what I do everytime i turn on my car. Please add to that my Armytrix Exhaust Valves as i have to open them using a remote control once i start the car. So if by mistake i kept start stop ON and the cars goes off these valves automatically close.

I honestly thought it was on echo only. I really dislike the feature as well and thought it was annoying when I drove a friend's 3 series. I usually drive on sport+ or my custom drive mode so maybe I missed it prior to the tune. Assuming the tune disables them but I'm glad it's not there either way. Hope you disable yours 👍

I sold my C400 and bought a GranTurismo and they have 2 stage exhaust valves from the factory! Same thing tho, gotta open them up after start.
For anyone annoyed with disabling the start / stop feature each time, you can pick up one of our OBD programmers that retains "last mode" for this feature, you can take a look at our vehicle coverages HERE. Pick one up today!

I just tried it and it work great, Thanks. I do not mind the Stop Start in the winter but in the summer here it is BAD. Stop at a light when it is 100-108 degrees, sitting in the sun and the car turns off and the A/C blows cool air not real cold air . Right away you can feel it. Love the fix

I had unclipped it as well but soon found out the alternator was charging 100% all the time. If you want to overcharge your battery thus killing it eventually, keep it unclipped. If not spend that $100 for the obd2 plug or for free pressing the off start/stop button.

In BMWs you can configure the suspension to comfort, engine to sport and transmission to comfort to disable start/stop, yes sadly the mild hybrid versions of BMW no longer have the auto start/stop turn off button and this is the only way to have it disabled yet not having the vehicle in full sport+ mode.
