Dashcam causing interference with key fob?

Hi when my dual dash cams are connected my car doesn’t or very rarely respond to any input from my key (it’s 100% not the battery)

First I thought it was because I hardwired the camera constant 12V to the fuse 205 which is the Electronic ignition lock control unit.

I don’t take away this possibly but I have been told that it could be the cables that can interfere with the RF receptors on the car.

Can it be the case knowing there’s many of them on the car? Also I couldn’t find any diagram that tells where they are.

Any solutions?

thanks

I would suggest wiring your dash cam to one of the 12 volt cigarette lighter fuses instead. (My w205 has two)

The rule of thumb is never tap into a fuse for a critical system like a control unit.

Try the glovebox light fuse. I have mine hooked up to it for acc. For constant, I am using a blank fuse location.

Hi thanks for the answers so you think it could be the fuse I choose? Because I tried to unplug the rear camera as said in dashcam forums and the key works as normal apparently it’s the rear camera cable that causes interferences.

I already use the glove box fuse for the ACC.

I think I tried the cigarette lighter for the constant 12V it did not work can you help me by telling me which fuse number you took for the 12V? And am I better to go use the trunk fuse box?

211 was blank for me so I am using that. Make sure to use single fuse and leave out the 2nd fuse on piggyback so that you don't power the circuit unknowingly.

On the right you have the piggy back fuse tapped into the glovebox 216. You need both fuses on it.

However, on 211 the very last fuse on the yellow rail, which yours is also blank, make sure to just use single fuse to power up the dashcam not 2.

Just remove the original fuse that was on 205 from the piggy and put it back on 205. The single fuse that's on the piggyback should work on 211 or other blank fuse you want to use on the constant yellow rail.
