See the picture below: Badged white C63s vs debadged black C63s. The badged white C63s has 63 on its number plate as well 😁. Which one do you guys like?

A weak assumption. And since this is a Mercedes forum, I guess starting this thread talking about Tesla's was wrong also. I'm not following your strange logic.

So Tesla's are good for inspiration and examples but all other brands are not. Umm, okay?

I'm a bit confused about how you can have an interest in the fine styling details of a car, such as cleaning-up the overall look by de-badging, but you seem to have missed the obvious; that the rear styling of a 04-06 GTO is very close to that of a W205... a lot closer in comparison than any Tesla I've seen.

You're making me regret that I tried to help you, lol.

Truth.

It could be said that there are only two groups of people that give a s*it about make/model badges on cars: car people like us and the police. :p

Make: Mercedes-Benz
Model: Silver

Just de-badged mine, took 20 minutes with a haidryer and floss. It looks a lot more balanced and clean.
Also, I am from Europe, we tend to order them without badge a lot to begin with.

So no front plate, no badge, just a thin-blue-line-sticker on the rear window. That's it.

I like it.

Gladly. Please pardon me, it's a GLE350, but you guys had the better "de-badge"-thread than the V167-forum.

Wheel of Fortune anybody?

And the result:

Badge Wheel of Fortune should be a thing! That's awesome.

Looks really good! I like it.

Also, I like the thin license plate frame and the screw covers... a nice quiet detail.

Thank you for noticing. My wife has not (so far)...

On a more serious note, Florida has apparently become more strict regarding plates, and legally speaking, anything that touches or obstructs the original display of your license plate is considered illegal. It's about a $100 fine if a cop were to write you a ticket for it, but more importantly, any plate obstruction is a reason to be pulled over and who knows how the traffic stop will go from there...

So, the thin frame makes perfect sense.

"A Miami appeals court recently ruled that a police officer acted legally in 2015 when he pulled over a motorist whose license plate frame partially covered the words “MyFlorida.com” and “Sunshine State” on his license plate, but not the plate’s tag numbers or decals. After pulling over the driver due to the partial obscuring of this seemingly unimportant portion of his license plate, the police officer determined the driver was driving on a suspended license and searched his car. Upon searching his car, ... This decision serves as an important reminder to Floridians to ensure that no portion of their license plates are obscured in any way lest they risk criminal charges on some unrelated grounds." Interesting. I'm so used to Florida's loose car regulations, such as no required inspections, no smog checks, no required front plate, etc., that I forget that Florida does have a few car laws, lol. Thanks for sharing this... good to know!

I have a thin, rounded plate frame also because the white border around an otherwise blue plate drove me crazy on a black car. :p I tried with a thin chrome frame, but since my plate is very close to the chrome trunk trim, it looked weird. On yours, the chrome works and looks good. I think because you have a taller rear-end and there's some separation between your plate and the trunk trim. I ended up with a gloss black frame and used black stainless steel button-head screws. Yes, I have issues with small details that most people don't even notice or care about, lol.

That looks very good and exceptionally clean with your car.

Attention to detail is a lost art these days in too many things. So I can truly appreciate that.

ere we are, a little over 3 months later. Unfortunately, the blue one had to go, but at least that gave me the opportunity for some more "clean-look"- de-badging:

And while I found some good use for some of the letters, we can still play Wheel of Fortune (or ask MB to design the "GEEE 5500".

Some might be brand ******, some may not be. Why create a divide with your comment about jeans and shoes? What if someone does remove labels from their clothing? Are you that insecure with yourself that you bring this up? Should we advertise for all the different companies? Do you wear a shirt with a little horse, alligator, lamb? If you want to debadge a car what difference does it make to you personally? Just asking.
