Question Friend tried to force power trunk and it made huge noise
Hello All,

I have a 2020 C300 4Matic Sedan. One of my friend today tried to close the power trunk manually twice with a force and it made a hard noise. The power trunk seems to works fine. But I am worried that something might be broken inside or this incident might cause damage on the long run. What should I do to ensure that it's all good?

if it works, it’s probably fine. Outside of taking it apart, just figure that it’s ok.

This place is a joke.
It's normal, and it's ok. That noise is the override clutch and it is designed that way in case something gets stuck in the way while it's closing.

Ahh! Thank god. I was so worried. I guess from now on I will have to educate people about the power trunk before they get stuff from the car.

It does sound like it is the override clutch and you should be fine, but your car is under warranty so if you're really concerned take it to the dealer.

Yes it is under warranty. I will give a call to dealership to see what they think about it.
