OK! Thanks for sending the pics. My setting is the same. I still have to switch the source between CarPlay and MB Bluetooth when a call comes in OR when I make a call out. Ugh! Soooo frustrating. Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again!

I didn't link the phone to Roadtop bluetooth, only MB. Then I select 'Bluetooth' on MB audio menu - the roadtop system just works.
I should add I use wired connection, not wireless, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Wireless carplay needs first the bluetooth between phone and carplay modlue to establish the wifi link.
When you connect to MBBluetooth, the phone will switch to this, but then getting back your audio for carplay is a pain - you have to set the bluetooth output back manually to carplay.
I'm out of town to post settings for wireless carplay phone settings, but i can once i return later this week.

Thank you! I have the Wireless Roadtop Wireless Carplay option.
Yeah, any best practice settings or modified setup for wireless careplay / MB Bluetooth OR specific audio settings within the Roadtop audio menu that would eliminate the echo and tunneling audio feedback on a call or receiving a call would be greatly appreciated! I'm so frustrated!! I know others must be feeling the same pain I'm feeling and could also benefit.
I've been working with Roadtop tech support for hours and yet they are very responsive via Whatsapp, they have NOT been able to provide me a working solution. Below is the Roadtop model that I purchased from Amazon. Thank you sooooo much!!!

This works if you don't use the wireless carplay option.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I have the 7" standard unit, and wonder if these would work with that unit. I am having problems with volume levels etc.
Thanks

Good luck with the settings! I feel I can tweak them more, but it’s a good start, and nobody is complaining. The lack of patience my wife had when I used a call with her on our kid’s schedule to tune the mic/audio settings - LOL. I couldn’t tell if the audio setting adjustments were making it louder, or her voice.

….. and yet everytime I get into my car my wireless RoadTop CarPlay connects to my wi-fi connection perfectly (literally within 5sec I can see CarPlay on my screen) which is amazing BUT CarPlay still defaults as RoadTop for audio via wireless, not MB Bluetooth and I have to manually change over to MB Bluetooth every time for my calls which is a real pain. This should be a seamless process. Thoughts? Additional guidance?
Is there something I’m missing here
or doing wrong? I’m continued to be frustrated & have spend countless hours on this setup. Ugh!!
Thanks!

From your latest recommendation what call audio routing option are you using w/the Wireless RoadTop Car Play for it to auto connect to MB Bluetooth? I'm assuming "Bluetooth headset"? Just looking to confirm before I mess with anything more settings.
Any other suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!!!

Ugh! I'm still having issues with the echo and have to manually change to MB Bluetooth every time I make or receive calls. Everything else works flawlessness with the wireless RoadTop which makes this situation even more frustrating with all the hours I've spent on this. I've followed your exact suggestions to a T thus far (thank you again!!!)

If i have a serious call, I swap to my airpods pro in one ear. Even factory bluetooth doesn't beat a headset.

A few further updates:
- To activate SIRI, use the left side call hangup button on the steering wheel. It only activates SIRI, which i was surprised. Using the voice command button on the right side, it activates both SIRI and factory voice prompt, where the factory system takes priority. the holding of the button for 3 seconds is really inconsistent.
- I made some more fine tuning to increase the music volume setting, decreasing the general volume and speech volume, as the prompts / waze / voice incoming was too loud compared to the music volume. seems to distort even less for high volume.

C220D AMG Line Premium 2016
Hi All,
First time owning a Merc and i've gone with a 2016 C220D AMG Line Premium Plus (W205).
I really want 'carplay' and have read this very useful thread, unfortunately i have also heard from some local 'audio installers' that they wouldnt recommend doing this on a W205 2016 model as people often have problems later on with some electrics including immobiliser, windows, etc...
Has anyone had problems generally with the car after installing the after-market Road Top unit ?
Thanking all in advance.

No issues on mine..... I have been using it for around 3 months.
I am not sure how piggy backing on the head unit wiring loom could impact immobilizer or windows.....but I am not a auto electrician!

Installed mine in July. Only issues involves getting the setting dialed in. Trial and error. Also, I occasionally have to restart the phone. No issues with the car itself. Love having Car Play

Unless they have specific cases on this platform, I'd go by the experience of those who have installed it on their own cars before a local "audio installer", which typically prefers to install their own aftermarket head units.
