Any dual camera dash cam will work in your car. If you want 4k and excellent picture quality, I would highly suggest the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo 4K Dual Dash Cam.
($229.99 today with $20 off)
Other good cameras are :
- THINKWARE U1000 Dual Dash Cam 4k
- Blackvue DR900x Dual Dash Cam 4k
- Blackvue DR750X-2CH Plus Dual Dash Cam 1080p
Otherwise, just tap into any ACC + 12 volt fuse (powered only when car is ON) and constant + 12 volt power fuse (always powered) and then a ground point.
With the 2015 W205 their are fuses in the trunk. These two below are both good ACC power sources (Front and Rear cigarette sockets)

I fully appreciate the recommendations about other dash cams but I have already purchased this from the dealer at a different state for AU $1200 and my dealer wants AU $1350 to install over 2 days, something that based on all the readings can take 1.5-3 hours max. The cameras also come with all the wiring kit and yes it does come with a manual that describes the actual operations of the camera but not installation and hard wire. The car by the way is 2020 year build.
Thank you for the replies.

Then you'll need to get yourself or ask someone for the 2020 version of WIS/ASRA and EPC manuals for the install. Even with that, who knows if it needs software that only comes from the dealership. I'm betting the linked dashcams have better quality and easier install than OEM.

Yes, you control the camera in mbux app called dashcam and see the videos as well. Guessing user is trying to retrofit it? It's a new feature that's overlooked by MB agents and countries have different laws on dashcams

After watching the video and checking out the cable, it looks like this one does NOT interface directly with the MBUX (well maybe via Bluetooth or WiFi) and is just a regular old 1080p WiFi dash camera with Mercedes Branding. it has all the usually wires acc, pwr , ground, except that extra blue one.

If you are getting the first one not the integrated into MBUX, that looks like chinese knockoff you can get from ebay for $100 and install takes less then 1hr to finish.

Did not order the dashcam with my new GLE... Now considering one. Is it possible to add the MB camera after delivery? Just trying to understand options... Thanks in advance.

I believe the newer dashcam option that's available on some models actually uses the car's cameras and is part of MBUX, however the one here is simply an aftermarket dashcam with a Mercedes logo on it and requires an app on your phone to use it. It's way overpriced for what it is. If you want dashcams, there are far better once for less money. I've long complained that Mercedes doesn't have a built-in solution. Why would I want to stick another camera on my windows when the car already has several cameras that could act as a dashcam just like Tesla does. Not to mention that they attract thieves and somebody might break into your car to steal them.

If the OEM dash camera was 4k, best image quality, newest features, plug and play install, seamless integration, battery drain power management and cheaper, it would be worth it.
The technology changes too quickly.
Go with an aftermarket solution.
If you want a hidden dash camera install, that option exists, but sometimes at the expense of better features and good image quality.
Here is an example for Mercedes W205s (wow now with 4k). Looks like it replaces your overhead trim.

Thanks, Benzdude... Not sure I 'need' a dashcam, just trying to understand what the options (and cost) are... Seems there are quite a few good ones, just trying to get a feel for what might be a decent option without spending a 'lot' of money, especially since I was not convinced I needed one to start with.... Appreciate your input.

Even ultra cheap $50 dashcam where you plug it into cig port and wire dangling from windshield will help as same way as more expensive dash cam during an accident.
Remember you don't 'need' airbags or dashcam until that one moment you wish you had.
