Painting spoiler
I bought an OEM MB spoiler (part no 2057930388) that's already primed. However, there's 3 scrapes and a supposed chip on the middle of the spoiler. Is this superficial enough that it won't matter when I paint it black and mount it?

The marks appear to be sanding marks by looking at the picture. Is it smooth without scratches? That's all that matters really. If not, I would suggest light sanding with a high grit sandpaper, such as 1500-2000 grit to remove light scratches. Just be careful not to sand through the primer coat. The color coats will hide the slight difference in the primer color.
Is the "chip" in the dead center? It looks like it may be a drain hole to me.

Update: went to dealership. Saw other spoilers with the hole in the middle. So I learned it's not a defect. Body shop was closed but parts dept said the scrapes are smooth enough it shouldn't be a problem. Accessory parts are not well packaged sadly.

If they are sanding marks, I would not necessarily see that as a sign of mistreatment. I see that as an indicator of good quality control, as someone must have inspected it, noticed some surface imperfections and took care of it.
Good luck with the paint and enjoy!
