Protection of top for shipping

Hello, I have a C300 Cab. I am going to be shipping the car to Florida. Last time I shipped a car, it came back caked in mud. I could wash it of course. This time I have a soft top. I’m afraid if it gets that dirty, I’ll never be able to get it clean. It’s going on a car carrier. I don’t expect the driver to cover, than uncover to move it and cover again. Is there any sort of cover that covers just the top and is still drivable? Thanks in advance.

Cab owner here too. And ex-car collector. Have you priced covered carriers used by collectors. Movers (eg, Allied or Bekins) carry cars too. IL to FL is a common transport for snowbirds. Or ask the MB dealer how cab tops are protected while transported.
If nothing else is available, by stopping the top when almost closed and some careful trimming & serious taping you may be able to DIY with heavy plastic sheet tucked under the edges where the top seals. If you DIY, test it at interstate speeds then with a hose.
PS - If you haven't used a transporter before, be careful. There are a lot of shady "gypsy" transporters.

Thanks. I’ve used the same carrier for a couple of years now. But it is not covered. I called the dealer and the SA said they do not have the the same stuff that the factory uses. I’ve thought about DIY. I’m afraid to mess with interfering with the top at all. The front of course has to latch. I will talk to the salesman tomorrow.
i spoke to my carrier. He is willing to cover my car. So I’m buying a car cover.
