So...yesterday I noticed that the light (LED) for the passenger side handle no longer work on my C300 MY 2018 (the car is out of warranty)
I consulted various conversations for this problem on the current forum without however getting an answer, and I did not contact my Mercedes dealer to get a price for the replacement of the LED light yet.
From what I have been able to read so far (thank you benzdude) I am a little reluctant to remove the door panel and all that follows to effect the change of a simple LED light, and especially the price my dealer might charge me to make this.
Have any of you ever visited the dealership in Canada for a replacement and how much does it cost?
Can we completely deactivate the four lights for the handles via the vehicle settings...?
I checked yesterday but could not find anything for this…
I don't really have a need for these lights…I can easily find my handles with or without loll and I believe with all reservations that on the 2019+ models this option is no longer available.
Question to follow up...I finally found in the vehicle settings how to turn off the exterior lights. So, when I unlock the car and lock the car DRL, LED for the handles as well as the taillights no longer remain on, just blinking two times..
Having had no answer regarding the price for the change of LED on the passenger handle, all that remains is to contact my dealer to know the price if...I decide eventually to replace the defective one.
One of my rear doors went out and i purchased original Mercedes one .. it costs as far as i remember around $16 and i did it my self.
it took me 2 hours as you have to remove the door card and unmount your glass and tape it.. i watched a youtube video and it was straight forward.
The rear doors are easier than the fronts as the fronts you will have to totally remove the glass .
The one issue i found is that Mercedes released an upgraded light and it has different color temperature, so now i have one door handle light with different color 😑.
If you can live with that then go with it.. it's an easy job.
If you go to the dealer, they will quote you at least $1k.

Thanks for sharing, the more blue tinted light is actually a sign that it may (not saying it will definitely but it may...) fail, that is how one of mines on a 2017 failed, it progressively became more blue. However, I have one that stopped becoming more blue and still working for way longer than the other one. So that means it might not fail. Depends on their mood apparently.
I had the dealer replace 2 that had gone out within the warranty period, one of the original ones started going blue after a few years, it’s now 6 years old and still going ok. It’s a bit of a lottery on the early vehicles like mine

Yup same, I had two on my 2017 for some reason refuse to fail (well, that is a good thing, don't know why I sounded like I am complaining), hopefully we don't jinx ours. Enjoy yours!
