C400 non-clock to clock? Hate my piano black console
I just let my C300 with black ash console go, due to the engine sounding as if it was just shy of tossing a piston and replaced it with a low-mile 2015 C400. Unfortunately, it has the non-clock piano black console which looks so much worse than my C300's matte black ash with the analog clock.
Has anyone changed their cd slot/button panel from the non-clock to clock version? My plan is to get a black ash console used and convert- and get back my beloved analog clock. If nobody has done it, I'm willing to give it a try once it warms up outside- would just hate to spend the money on used parts just to find it doesn't work.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
^That is the most cost effective way and it looks so clean too, good idea. OP, you could also wrap it with something else if you prefer. If you want to retrofit the dark ash open pore wood with the clock, you may but do you want the clock to be actually working? If you want the clock to be actually working there is some slight programming required and there are wiring to do.

Since it really is just a digital clock with physical needles.
Here is the method to retrofit the clock (IWC was for the C 63s but method is the same)

Here is the post mentioned in that thread on the wiring needed and the programming as well (including SA Code 246 mentioned):

Cool! Thanks everyone for the info- the non-clock trim will have to do, as I don't feel like dealing with programming to get the clock to cooperate. I had considered covering the piano black parts with cloth or wrap- but I just loved the matte black wood in my last car. I'll just troll the junkyards and online to see if the right part pops up between now and Spring. Thanks again, everyone.

My car has this Dark carbon fiber cover on it. I think the previous owner installed as my vin decoder does not show carbon fiber console. I kept as I think its pretty cool.
