Power close trunk not fully closing

Hey all,
I recently acquired a 2015 C400 with the power trunk feature.

I didn't realize that it wasn't fully closing until the other day, and it should be closing flush. The "vacuum" feature seems to not be working, and I'd like to know how to troubleshoot this.

Information is scarce online regarding this, the only thread I found was this one, which is vague:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w205/793989-w205-c300-2018-trunk-soft-assistant-problem.html

I get no dash messages saying the trunk is open. I'm not sure if it's the mechanism in the trunk lid itself, or the latch at the bottom that it attaches to. I tried pulling a couple fuses for the trunk in hopes it would reset something, but it hasn't helped.
I don't think this mechanism is run by a pump like on an SL, which it what most of my internet search is finding, but maybe I'm wrong and something is leaking.

Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks

Does it stay closed?
what does it look like, when not flush?

Yeah it stays latched, feels really solid. It doesn't "suck" shut after the latch engages. It looks just like the trunk picture in the other post I linked above, there's that unsightly gap.

I have the same issue and it’s doing my head in because like you said I cannot find anything on the internet that will say if it’s the top mechanism or the bottom mechanism that is not working to pull the boot to a complete tight close.
