My W205 C300 Interior Update Project
This is a chronicle of my project to update/upgrade some of my C300 interior components. I'm essentially starting with the base "luxury/avantgarde" interior, with the exception that mine has the Multimedia Package that includes the COMAND Online system; NTG 5.x with an 8.4" screen at 960x540 resolution.
These are my main goals:
As with all of my projects for this car, I will be ordering the parts online and doing the work myself. I do not have a lot of free time and because of that it may take me a while to get the work done but I will post my updates and progress here as I go. I hope my experiences and part selections will help others in their decisions and upgrades!
~
My other projects for this car can be found here:
My W205 C300 Base Body Styling Conversion Project (completed)
My W205 C300 Base Brakes Conversion/Upgrade Project (in slow progress, waiting for rotors, and calipers to be painted)
~
These are my main goals:
- Larger center screen based on Android.
- Isolated car-only/dedicated high-speed internet connection.
- Front camera so I can see when I'm about to destroy my low front bumper lip when parking. :p
- Ambient lighting.
- 2020+ W213 E-class/W223 S-class style steering wheel.

I do not have a lot of free time and because of that it may take me a while to get the work done but I will post my updates and progress here as I go. ANDROID SCREEN ORDERED
As with most good projects, it starts with spending money and this is no exception, lol. I ordered a 12.3" Android 11 screen (6GB RAM/128GB Storage) from DMP Car Design.

AMBIENT LIGHTING ORDERED
Purchased from DMP Car Design. I ordered their Package B kit that includes; center console, footwells (left & right), door trim strips (all 4 doors), 5 turbine air vents (dashboard) and 2 turbine air vents (rear passengers center). I ordered the passenger dash trim (above glovebox) separately.
Woot! I'm excited to get started!!!

Yeah, those new air vents are cool looking also but not an option with the ambient package I went with and not really worth pursuing for me. I like them, but not enough more than the turbine-style to spend a lot of effort to work it out.

For the car's internet connection I'll be using the Android screen's 4G SIM card slot and will most likely go with T-Mobile - get a SIM card from them and go with one of their plans here: https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid-internet

As for the SL style vents, I realized that I found some images on it before (I am sorry that I forgot where though): https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post8498324
Do you actually like the SL style vents at all?

For my interior, I think the original turbine-style (pictured below on right) works with my interior better overall. I have a two-tone black and beige interior and I'm leaning more towards the luxury look as opposed to a sporty look (carbon fiber, red accents, racy-looking stuff, etc.).
It's always good to have options for sure!

So I saw this wheel and now I can't un-see it, lol. I think I'm going to switch gears from my original wheel plan and go for this one instead:
I think it would look killer with my black-beige/cream interior!

Yup, I knew which ones you were talking about. I do think they look cool! However, the more I look at them, they kinda have a "spidery" look to them, lol.

Honestly, yes the original turbine works in many MB interiors, I agree.
For sure! Options are always good to have!

Anything else planned for the exterior? I guess I shouldn't ask that question in this thread being an interior focused thread...

Make sure to go with the leather wrapped airbag cover. I don’t think the plastic one does it justice. Not cheap but for something you interact with on a daily basis totally worth it.

Do you actually want aftermarket or do you like the OEM power dome ones, or do you want the design of the hood lines to stand out hence aftermarket, I am not sure if you want the see through ones too but the options are there. Good luck with your search.

What I'm looking for is a C63-style hood (with the two longitudinal ribs) w/functional, water-proof air vents. One vent to be used as a sealed engine air intake and the other to dissipate heat from the engine compartment. This is more of a future project for now.
