How to update COMAND navigation maps using USB?

I've downloaded to USB flash key updates for zones outside my home zone using Mercedes Download Manager. It took quite some time for all this data (25 GB) to come down; maybe an hour. How should I go about uploading this to my 2019 C300? If I insert the USB key does the system automatically recognize it as an update? Should I only do this if I'm going to be using the car for an extended period of time; see reference above to how long the download took?

Sorry for all the questions. I'd prefer to do this right the first time.

UPDATE: I finally found time to do this map update. The car does recognize an update is available when the USB flash key is inserted and offers to upload it. If the car is turned off, this cancels the update; the update does not resume when the car is next started, but instead the update must be restarted from the beginning. You may need to go to System > Software Update to manually restart the process. Updating took about 45 minutes for 16.4 GB of data. You can otherwise use the COMAND system while it is updating. When the update has completed, the system asks to be rebooted. Pretty straightforward.
