Upgrade sound system
I bought a c300 4matic w205 2015 about a month ago with only 49k km on it.
I am enjoying the car a lot but I went from an amazing after market setup to something real trash and its bugging me a lot.
Ofc it doesn't have the burmeister system but from what I've read its the same speakers ( just more of them with upgraded amp and DSP )
I left my previous speakers in my old car and sold it as is, however I kept my 2 amps and my subwoofer.
I already transferred my subwoofer with box in the trunk.
For the wiring here is what I did:
- Cut the subwoofer audio cable from OEM subwoofer under the passenger feet and "hack" a single RCA into it which I wired to the boot of my trunk.
- From the same location just next to it there was a big 12V red cable going into a module which seemed to be a splitter so I loosened the nut on that big cable and added another 12V wire on it ( I think it was a 6ga by the look of it ) which I wired to my trunk
- Plug that 12V into a cheap 0.5 farad capacitor.
- Wired ground from under near a hook to the capacitor
- ground & 12v then goes from capacitor to my sub amp ( S-A60M )
- RCA goes into the amp and finally plug my subwoofer to the amp ( S-W12D4 ) into a 2ohm 600w setup.
Note: I didn't needed to hook into any accessory signal to trigger my amp to turn on because it has a feature to auto turn on when it detect signal from the RCA, forgot the exact terminology but its working perfectly!
Now I have a speaker amp which I have not installed yet ( S-A32F ).
I am looking for options in regards to speakers, I was wondering if anyone tried to add 6.5" speakers in the OEM subwoofer location using spacers or custom 3d printed brackets.
I wonder if the audio cable there is raw audio or it has a low pass filter to it coming from the head unit amp.
I also wonder how good it would sound behind that plastic panel and carpet.
Can anyone tell me what are the speakers size for each default location including max magnet size/depth
I also wonder under the central console can I hook into the speaker cables to amplify them or are they located somewhere else, from my understanding the NTG5 audio 20 has builtin amp so I am guessing the speaker wire should be hooked into it directly.
Thanks everyone I know I am asking for a lot of information at once.
