Hi all: I do my own work on all my cars/trucks and im a little disappointed on this so I figure I would ask before ripping apart the whole engine. I did a UV Die test to find an oil leak I've noticed getting worse and worse since my last oil change. I sprayed degreaser, added the die to the oil, backed her into the garage and jacked her up. Immediately with a UV light I see that the oil isnt coming from the pan/nut, oil filer, etc but rather it looks like it is coming somewhere from the back of the engine, dripping onto the transmission then spraying all over the underside when I drive.
Engine bay is really tight, I took the left side cover off and have pulled my windshield wipers off to remove the right side panel but I couldn't get a snake camera in + the UV light to see where the leak is- god do I miss how open the engine was on my old 97 e420 v8 big block was!
Anyone have suggestions before I start ripping more stuff out? Really disappointed at 42k miles and only a 2017 that this is already happening... Meanwhile my 2011 Ford has never leaked

Have you gotten a view from under the vehicle (lying on the ground)? Is the oil. coming from above and outside the transmission housing? Or from inside the transmission housing? Originally Posted by animelchild9

Put the vehicle in the air or on jack stands and crawl under it.
I am also disappointed with your car dripping oil even at low mileage but I am impressed to see the amout of knowledge and skills you have.
