I took a crack at doing the transmission fluid myself today and thought i'd share it with everyone

8mm or 5/16 for splash guard

10MM for transmission bracket to transmission mount

Female Torx E10 for transmission pan bolts

Female Torx E12 For transmission mount/bracket

Hex 8 for the transmission drain plug or special tool

Special Tool for Drain Plug

24MM open end wrench or adjustable wrench for Adapter - Mercedes-Benz (725589009000)

Flat Head Screwdriver to remove the level sensor and fill part.

Funnel

Parts:

Transmission Pan w/filter Mercedes-Benz (7252703707)

Transmission Pan

Transmission Fluid Mercedes-Benz Genuine ATF 236.17 (A000989280411BVLU)

Special Tools:

Step 1: Raise the car safety, use jack stands. Make sure the transmission is cool.

Step 2: Remove middle splash guard with 8mm or 5/16.

Step 3: Use the Hex 8 to remove the transmission pan plug. (There is a special tool for this as well and is included if you get the set on amazon or a tools site). The Hex 8 worked fine for me.

Special Tool

Step 4: Use the special tool Socket Wrench - Mercedes-Benz (725589000900) to move from position 1 to 4. Position 1 is for highest volume in the pan and position 4 is used to drain.

Step 5: Remove the transmission mount/bracket to access all the transmission pan bolts. There are 8-Female Torx E12 to the chassis of the car and 4-10MM to the transmission mount. The transmission will lower so use a jack on the bracket to allow it to slowly drop.

Step 6: Remove all the transmission pan bolts with a Female Torx E10 in a cross pattern.

Step 7: Remove the pan, keep in mind that there is still almost a litre of fluid still in the pan so start from one end to allow the fluid to drain before you make a mess. Keep a note of how much fluid you drained in total.

Step 8: Remove the fill part and the level sensor from the old pan and install onto new filter. You can install new ones if you want. I reused the old ones. You can use a flat head to remove them.

Fill Part and Level Sensor

Step 9: Wipe down all areas with a clean cloth.

Step 10: Reinstall the transmission pan with a Female Torx E10 in a cross pattern, torque to 4ft/lbs and then a 90-degree turn.

Step 11: Make sure on the new pan the fill part is on position 1 for fill with the Socket Wrench - Mercedes-Benz (725589000900).

Step 12: Reinstall the transmission mount and bracket use a jack to raise it into place.

Step 13: Use the Adapter - Mercedes-Benz (725589009000), ATF Fill Adapter and a Fluid Pump to refill the same amount of fluid that you drained plus at least another additional 500ml. The pump I used from amazon was a lot of work, but it did the job, and I filled an extra 1L just to be sure. I refilled about 6 litres.

Fluid Pump

Step 14: Start your car in the AMG Menu and make sure the transmission temp is between 35 and 40 degrees.

Step 15: Remove the Adapter - Mercedes-Benz (725589009000) and use Socket Wrench - Mercedes-Benz (725589000900) to move to position 3 to check fluid level. Wait until most fluid is out and move the tool back to position 1.

Step 16: Install new plug supplied with new filter.

Step 17: Reinstall splash shield

Nice writeup. Doesn’t WIS call for changing gears with engine running at a specified trans oil temp?
