W205 head unit replacement part no
Can anyone advise if the Mercedes w205 head units are universal or not.
My C220 64 plate has done about 125,000 miles and apparently the head unit components have fried. The screen keep rebooting and has lines on it when it does load. Heating it connected to it so that is also a down side.
I took it to a local merc specialist, comp came back with head unit knackered. I've found a few online but not sure if fully compatible?
The number on top of my head unit is A2059007815. Ive found one with the number A2059009128. I dont know if its the same thing just a newer version/build/release.. does any one know?
Secondly will I be able to fit myself? I can certainly reconnect the wires myself.. but do they require programming or coding?

Yes the independent merc specialist coded it in. You need the merc kit I guess. It was £150 to install. I did ask what if you code only and I'll fit, he said same price. I guess that's where the money is to be made.
