Burmeister sound with REALLY obnoxious bass
I've owned my C400 for about 18 months with little issue. But on a recent road trip I noticed while streaming music from my phone that the bass was RIDICULOUSLY booming.
Overpowering the vocals and generally just really muddy and messy. I turned bass to -3 with highs at +3 to get some semblance of equilibrium.
I've never noticed this sound signature before, and my wife's similarly equipped C400 doesn't have the same issue (tried it with the same phone and same music).
I've never inspected the car's speakers, I suppose they could have been replaced previously by earlier owners, but this seems to be a new issue.
Any thoughts?

- How is the bass using the CD player?
- if the CD player sounds fine then its the Bluetooth source you are using.
- Try deleting the Bluetooth connection and re paring.
- Try resetting the head unit to factory settings (not the reboot a reset)
- Also try a different music player (phone?) over Bluetooth.
- Also try a different music app on your phone.
- Make sure you don't have a EQ or Volume boost apps on your phone OR in the music app (settings) you are using.

Move fader slightly forward. Remove any EQ or processing in the device you use (Apple Music or iPhone “Sound” settings).
