Performance suggestions for 2019 c300 W205
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. Just recently bought a 2019 c300 (w205) Amg line and wanted to get suggestions on newbie performance enhancements as well as sound enhancements for my car. I have been looking into getting some time of tune chip as well as a cold intake system to begin with but wanted suggestions and whether either of the two would require a tune of the car. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated too.

The stock air intake has plenty of flow to support a modded 2.0, so IMO changing the intake is a performance placebo unless you're only in it for the sucking sounds. An open air filter is just adding heat to your IAT's.
For exhaust, you can see some slight performance gains, especially with downpipes but the sound is purely subjective, comes down to what sound you like. Personally I think a loud 4-cyl sounds like a farm tractor, but that's just my opinion.
Do what you like and what makes you happy, it's your car!

I suggest an ECU flash tune. I did this on my previous C300 and it really woke it up. You'll be looking at $900+ for a good flash tune.

also regarding the cold air intake, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the sucking air noise. I am just wanting to know if the car needs to be tuned if one is installed? (And if you can send me suggestions for specific ones and brand I would appreciate too)

I really appreciate your response, Keith. Do you have any suggestions on specific ecu tunes? Also how difficult is that to install?

You can always revert back to stock too, if you need.
Air intakes don't require a tune. I get you, a lot of people do the intake for sound. Since it's not my thing, I can't recommend anything there but I'm sure there are many here that can.

You just have to be careful that whatever engine mods/ tune you chose is for the M264 motor found in the 2019+ facelifted cars. Most mods and tunes are for the M274 and will not work. It’s a shame as there is an abundance for the M274 and very little for the M264, plus whatever you find is rather expensive.

only ' engine mods' I have done are the MST air intake no noticeable performance but sounds cool, GFB diverter valve (blow off valve) maybe better throttle response but sounds great lol and a FTP intake charge pipe did nothing lol.
No coding or check engine light.

If you have some tools and basic mechanical ability, changing the plugs on a 4-cyl is super easy.
It took me about an hour to swap them. $80 for plugs, an hour of time and you're done.
If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, any decent independent shop can do it for you for a lot less than a MB dealer. It's not complicated or special in any way.
Good luck man!
