W205 Transmission and Front and Rear Differential Fluid Change
1) I was told that there is no need to change the Transfer Case Fluid because it's mixed/shared with the transmission fluid. Can someone confirm ?
- Fluid Spec should be 236.15 and takes about 6 quarts if you are not draining the Torque Converter.
3) Looking for detailed instructions on how to change the Front and Rear Differential Fluid on a W205.
So far, I gathered the following:
- Front Differential Fluid MB part number is 001989880311 (Buy 1 litter, takes about .8 - not sure how to check fluid level)
- Rear Differential Fluid is 75w80 (Buy 1 litter, takes about .8 - not sure how to check fluid level)
- Not sure if the front and rear are actually different fluids, however, that's what MB Parts provided.
- Fill Plug on the Front Differential is hard to reach and saw in a video that you can fill it from the drain plug but some fluid will spill out. Video Link:
(should this method be followed or is there a better way ? )
WIS for the transmission and t/case fluid change is posted on the site somewhere.
