Cooling Fan and exhaust HOT after a short trip
I recently bought a Mercedes 2019 C220d (with Adblue).
After a short trip and stop, fan is running for 5 minutes and the exhaust is tingling, it looks like its HOT. No error, no light, engine temperature normal.
I noticed after I do long trips it doesnt happend for like 10 days, and Adblue is not being used so much.
Is this normal?
1. Check the adblue tank for any white crystals.
2. Smell the Urea. PS, it should have no smell to a light smell.
3. Under the car is and close to the DEF system is a connector, it's easy to unplug. Near the connector is a hose with a clamp plastic clamp. Sometimes if you have crystal buildup, it can blog this pipe and you just need to clean it out with a small pick or screwdriver.
4. Your car is covered under a lifetime warranty or an additional 150,000km for the DEF system. You just need to go to the MB site for DEF replacement and enter your VIN and it will let you know if your car needs the update.
5. If you are the first owner of the car, make sure you keep the Urea, not in the car and in the dark.
6. You may get a check engine soon as this will run down your battery over time.
7. Check your coolant level to make sure it's at the right level. Top up if needed.
Hope this help.
I recently got the car from a dealer, it was staying in one place for at least 2 months before I got it.
If I find crystals in Adblue, should I replace it completely? It is almost full.
