W205 buying advise
Looking to upgrade my 2010 w204 with 205k miles to the w205. Is 2017 or 2018 in the safe zone as far as issues go? Or just go for 2019 2020?

The M274 (2015 - 2018) has some reliability issues, but my 2017 is fine so far. But if I were you, I would just buy the facelift 2019+ since the engine is a bit more reliable and it has more tech.

Thanks I was afraid of that. Is this true for ones not made in USA? I test drove a 2015 C300 4matic and drove way better than the 2019 rwd. Is the 9 speed slow to shift or is it cuase it's 4matic vs rwd? The 2015 felt very lively. The 2019 even in sports + was awful. Maybe there was something wrong with it. Definitely like the interior better.

I think it's true for all models with the M274 engine (including the E300)... keep it mind that it's statistically a small number, but it'll suck so bad if that actually happens to you.
Not sure why the 2019 felt so awful for you...but keep in mind that if you're looking at used cars, then the transmission will have adapted to its former owner's driving habits. So if the previous owner was a grandma and drove like it, then the transmission sort of shifts accordingly. The opposite is true if you drive more spiritedly. There are YouTube tutorials that explain how to reset the transmission, so that it adapts to your style.
If you can get a CPO 2022 model year (under factory warranty), I would recommend that.

If you purchase the v6 Turbo, you will be okay as the only problem you can get hit with is if you program the v6 turbo for to much power.
