2010 Mercedes C300: Idle for 3 Years. Buy or Pass?
I found a 2010 Mercedes C300 with 102,000 miles listed at a dealership/mechanic for $6,500. According to the Carfax report, it's been sitting since January 2021, which means the car hasn't been driven for over 3 years. How concerning is this? I test drove the car, and it felt good; I didn't notice any visible mechanical or cosmetic issues. What do you think?

You shouldn't have a problem but I would also check for oil leaks about the engine top and bottom. Any car that just sits can cause the seals to shrink and is not s defect of the car or manufacture. Also check the dates on the tires to make sure they are not at their end of life, check the v-belt for wear or damage, check the tie-rods and CV by driving the car in a tight circle, first left then right and listen for ticking sound.. if no sound.. all good. Look under the car for rust, check the suspension for leaks and lastly, pull all the codes to see what is hiding in the modules.
PS.. this is full German built cars so it should be built great.
