Was under the impression all late mercedes with start stop technology woukd have either an auxiliary battery or voltage regulator, I've had few issues with dash lights being dim then bright and error of collision prevention assist plus inoperative we replace main battery as vehicle hasn't bern used much past year

The auxiliary battery is a voltage regulator -- at least, that's the case on the W205 C300. But the symptoms you're describing don't have anything to do with it. I think it's exclusively for the Eco Start/Stop, which most of us would be thrilled to have disabled. Unless you're getting the auxiliary battery malfunction message on your dash, and your Eco Start/Stop is working I'd assume it's fine.

Hi I've had the passenger foot well carpet up and where the voltage regulator should be attached by one 8mm bolt and lug on side of the electric box there is nothing only the fixing and it's not just missing as no plug or loose wire

Like I said, aux batteries aren't on all MB models. If I recalled correctly, there was a forum member that was looking for an aux battery on their wagon and they couldn't find any and people were confused why as owners with sedans chimed in about the location. Then a senior forum member that works for MB confirmed the wagon E-Class does not have an aux battery in certain regions, maybe that is why you don't see one OP.

Hopefully someone will be able to tell if I'm looking for something that's not there on our model c220 bluetec diesel sport 2015 my local mercedes dealer isn't an option you can't get to speak to anyone in service depth, and parts department even when given registration details supplied the wrong part completely
