Pre facelift vs Facelift Distronic Plus Star difference?
Bought a new E63 style grill. Was going to change the Distronic Star to one with a black ring. My local parts guy selling the star said the grill I bought has different mounting brackets for the Distronic Star vs my pre facelift model and he only had pre facetlift stars in stock. Is this true? Also can anyone recommend what Distonic Star with a black ring? It's literally the last piece I need to start my appearance mods.
That's correct. The FL and PFL radar sensors are different, and they are not interchangeable. With black ring, I'm assuming you are referring to the one from the Night Package where all the chrome trim is blacked out. You need to get the correct part. Never mind, I just realized that even with the Night Package, the ring is still chrome, so the black ring must be an aftermarket part.
For reference, here's my FL C63S Coupe with DISTRONIC, Night Package and Carbon Fiber packages.

Thanks, from what I know, the black ring is aftermarket. Guess I have to look for a FL Distronic Star now to use this grill. Just when I thought I can get my appearance mods going this week lol
