How To Remove Sensor from Air Box 2015 C Class

I slid the gray plastic piece over. Unfortunately I cannot remove the plug. What step am I missing?

If OP is trying to change the air filter, all needs to be done is to loosen the torx screws, no need to remove it from the housing, rotate the cover (do not flip it, as the screws might fall out) and replace the filter.

As for if still want to remove the sensor connector, like most MB connectors, it is a two step process, that clip as mentioned is step 1, second step is lift the tab on the other side and simultaneously pull outwards.

normally after step 1 you push down on the pulled out tab downwards and pull outwards but those are infamous for breaking, it is flimsy plastic. So hence why I recommend going from the front and using a hook tool to lift the tab then pull outwards instead.

After all, OP the tab you loosen as per step 1 is what holds that step 2 tab/clip.

This video doesn't show to hook it from the other side but it is technically how you are supposed to do it in an official sense but like I said, that tab is easily broken using this method:

I'm trying to remove the sensor from the top of Air Box so I can determine bigger bolt size. Previous owner or mechanic stripped the bottom threading so
corner screw is not super tight. Maybe I'm knit picking? It seems like there is a vacuum leak. I get a sucking/pump sound when car is idle sometimes.

I'm going through process of elimination. I notice the gas cap is very tough to turn. Maybe it needs to be changed.
I bought Vacuum Pump Valve.
Amazon Amazon

Thanks for input.

Here’s the gas cap. Lot of dirt.

I don't know. It's very tough to turn. Super stiff. The seal does not look bad per se.
I guess some rubbing alcohol.

Hmmm, that is so strange. Especially given the fact that gas cap has a string so you can't accidentally drop it on the floor and contaminate it. So how did dirt get in there.

I took out the seal and cleaned it. It seems slightly better. Mechanic thinks the metal tab of the tank receptacle might be bent
but I don't think that's right. It's clearly too tight.

A new seal is $6.00. A new gas cap is $56. I suppose the cap could be defective when they make 1,000s.

They've updated the part. In case anyone else is having a fuel cap issue.

I bought a new gas cap seal from FCP euro and installed it. Now when I fasten it, I get a more clean click and stop.

I think the previous owners were over tightening wearing out the seal faster but it's a 2015 so age.... The car feels a little better accelerating. The purge valve seems quieter too.

I'll probably change the radiator cap as well.
